This was last week's block. I made it on Sunday but with the craziness of the week I didn't post it...

Also, I made a block using the General Grant fabric my friend gave me to use in this quilt. And yes, I am doing a General Lee block...
Honestly I think it takes me longer to pick out the fabric for each block than it does to make it. I find myself lingering in the reproduction fabric piles longer and longer with each block I make! Some of these scraps come from collections put out in the mid 90's...time to use them!
Your blocks look great; I especially like the use of a border type print in the 2nd block. I completely understand the choosing of fabric taking longer than the piecing of the block!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your blocks!! Yes, isn't it delightful to choose the CW fabrics, love that part.
ReplyDeleteLove your CW blocks. I made the new Barbara Brackman block this morning too. Hope you get a break. Hugs
ReplyDeleteLove how you have made your cotton boll. Your right about it taking longer to choose fabrics than make the blocks I am exactly the same.
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are looking wonderful. I just finished the first block today. I'm not use to working with 8 inch blocks though so it's going to be interesting as I continue on. I love how you did the last block. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGosh you make some really beautiful blocks and Sio, are you serious about dividing by 3 for an 8" block? You know I'm so math challenged and can't ever figure out how to draft a block unless its in a book. Shameful, ha?
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed following along with your CW blocks. I really like how you made the X in the second one you posted. And the fabric with the generals on it is the perfect addition to this project.
ReplyDeleteI am a bit behind in my blocks, but always catch up :)
It's amazing, with all that is going on, that you are able to keep up...and make extra blocks. Your blocks are looking good, and I too like thatstripe print.
ReplyDeleteHope your DH is better this week and you get some unwind time. Blessings :o)
These blocks are looking great! I am the same way pulling fabric. I get sidetracked first making sure I like what I'm using and then just looking at fabric :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're using those mid-90s fabrics from your stash. It gives me hope. Your blocks are great. I hope your DH starts feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Dionne
Your blocks are great! Love those CW fabrics. I like the little time capsule that you and your friend put together in your last post---what a treasure!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on fabric selection. Last week I had to walk away and come back as I had overwhelmed myself with options. LOL! I'm up to date expect for the latest. I think once this quilt is done the CW repro will be out of my system. Won't need to make another and the remaining fabric will be pieced into the back.
ReplyDeleteI am behindish!! Is that a word...anyway...3 blocks behindish!
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are looking lovely. I like the idea of using a special center. I already used a Lincoln fabric but I know have some Generals too! I like your Oakland Museum fabric! Your repros are after my own heart!
ReplyDeleteWonderful blocks. Hope you get some time for yourself soon!
ReplyDeletepicking the fabric is the fun part!!! that's why it should take time. looking good!
