Moving slow and steady

About the only time I have picked up fabric in the past week has been to fold it, wash it or pack it. Not quite the same as actually making anything. The photo above is of one of the quilters in my group's sampler quilt. It is her first and she even mitered the corners using that ivy fabric! Can't wait to see it finished. My sister and her husband came to visit for a few days. I can't believe it rained almost the entire time. The photo above is of a row of Cotswold houses in Upper Slaughter. There are lots of photos and paintings done of this town.

I did take a day out to visit Highgrove, the Princes gardens. It was beautiful. A bit on the wild side - lots of slightly overgrown hedges and mismatched pavings. There are some sculpted areas too and a really wonderful middle-eastern style walled garden. They don't allow photos though...it was killing me!

I am so tired of living in piles of stuff...I am sort of looking forward to their coming and picking up the stuff and getting on with it...

So, you're moving back to the US? I've been behind in my reading and need to catch up with your posts. Take it easy, moving is my least favorite thing to do, I can certainly sympathize. Love your photos.

There is nothing worse than living surrounded by all those boxes! It took us so long to unpack when we got to North Carolina (we were working on the house) that I kept buying things I knew I had. I just couldn't wait any longer for them to come out of the boxes! Small stuff, but geez. :-)

Hi, did you get the scraps you won on my blog? I sent them almost 2 weeks ago now? I did send them second class, but still LOL. If not, let me know and I'll chase them up...

I wonder why the Princess Gardens don't allow photos. Security reasons perhaps? Love the Cotswold picture.

Moving is not a fun thing to do with all the packing, shuffling, unpacking and so on....but once it is all done and over it is great fun and excitement getting to know the new area! I really like the quilt your friend is making.

It's too bad that they didn't allow photos at the Prince's garden. I guess you can dream about what you would like to make with the fabric that you are packing. That might help the process along a little!

Ohhhhhh I LOVE that photo of the Cotswolds building. What are the rooms like inside that type of building?

What an amazing home, just beautiful and so old. Your sampler is so pretty.
