the front door is pretty much done...
much to Macbeth's bewilderment (the pine scratches against the door and he thinks it is the cats are asking to be let in...let's hope this passes!)I dug out a Christmas sweater to wear to the first Quilter Guild Christmas Party tonight (and yes, it does have a scotty dog on it! all good fun...)
I made a batch of spanakopita (greek spinach and feta cheese pastry) for the party which makes the house smell good...maybe not christmas-y but festive non-the-less. Spanakopita was my Dad's favorite appetizer only he wanted them all folded into the little triangles - sorry quilters I only did that for my Dad.
I worked on my Bonnie's Carolina Christmas Mystery a bit more this morning. Usually by this time I have a clue on what the heck it will look like. Guess you can tell by that last sentence that I am totally in the dark. I laid the pieces so far out on the rug and tried mixing them around but to quote Holmes "there is insufficient data to come to a conclusion." Either that or I am totally without imagination! Maybe the next step will get me there.....

Step 5 is out, the blocks become clear. I haven't even cut my fabric, but how exciting!
Dogs and "their" cats are so silly.
I am also doing Carolina Christmas and have no clue where it is going BUT my pieces look like yours...that's good, right!?!

I'm going to my quilting group's Christmas party today and will be taking some yummy bread. I love spanakopita, but have never attempted make it. Quilting and cooking just go together, don't they?

Step 5 shows the blocks but not the layout. I am loving this mystery-at least the pieces are larger than Carolina Crossing! I am working on that one at the same time.
Glad to see the preparations are on their way at your house. I just whipped up the last of the mice pies this afternoon and the house smells wonderful!
We had a guild party this week and I ate WAY too much! Our Christmas decorating is in full swing also. I'm afraid to go to Bonnie's blog because I can't possibly think about starting another quilt! I'll just be happy watching yours develop.

Macbeth is cracking me up at the door - very cute (when it's at your house of course). I've never had Spanakopita but happy you made some for everyone to enjoy. How was the party anyway? I really dig the colors in your Mystery Quilt, Sio. As for "insufficient data" I'm thinkin' you probably have an idea by now...
