Off the Grid...

Well I am back. Sorry about the long delay. The short version - the infection got worse, I spent some time in the hospital, my eyes got a bit wonky, and thus I was "off the grid" for a bit. I am much better now and will be back posting from now on....

We drove over Wales today. We visisted a town called Hay on Wye that has dozens of book stores. The photo on the left is of the castle book store. There was a bookstore for science and natural history books, another for mystery books, and another for just about any type of book you are interested in!
The hills around the town are very pretty. I'd like to go back when we can do some walking.
More later...I'll have some quilting photos later....

Sorry to hear you've not been too well ... hope you are feeling better now - sounds like it wasn't very much fun. I missed your posts.

I *wondered* where you were! Glad to hear you're better; too bad you had to go through that though.

What a gorgeous place for a book sale/book stores!

Sorry to hear about the hospital stay. Hope your doing better. That castle book store is amazing! I enlarged the picture on my pc and the colors with the stone was soooo cool! And the books out front are too funny!

aaagh I hate that you are so far away.take care of yourself, stay out of the heat.

I've been to Hay-on-Wye too. Hated that musty dusty book smell in the shops, but outside? that'd be much better.

Glad you are feeling better. I went to Hay-on-Wye back in the 70s and was amazed to see a place with so many books! We stayed at a wonderful friendly B&B but unfortunately I can't recall the name of it.

We have good friends who do farmhouse bed and breakfast near there (look back to my posts near Easter this year when we stayed there) If you want to go back and linger a little longer than a day email me and I'll give you their details

OOOh Hay is my DHs favourite place - if I want major brownie points I just take him there for a trip! LOL!

I'm glad that you're all better now

Glad you are feeling better. Did you buy any books? When I went there I bought something from the Teddy Bear shop, but I don't recall buying any books LOL

Look after yourself and take it easy.
