Bonnie's Trunkshow

My guild was lucky to have Bonnie Hunter (one of our members from long ago!) present her trunk show at our Fall combined meeting. We may have set a record for attendance at this one! We have about 100 members and about 65 were on hand for the meeting...not bad!
Bonnie gave an inspiring talk on how she goes about planning her quilts and using her scraps. And as always it was fun to see her quilts in person...and she brings a lot of quilts!
We also asked members to bring quilts that were from Bonnie's books, website or just inspired by her scrap system.Show and tell was a lot of fun...
enough so that folks didn't complain about lunch being late! And that my friends is saying something!

Looks like you had a wonderful time. I would love to have Bonnie at our guild but so far we haven't been able to make it happen. However, I'm taking a class from her next January at Road to California. Yippee, I can't wait. I've heard nothing but good things about her.

How lucky you guys were! I love her scrappiness, and how generous she is with sharing it through her web site and books. Scraps RULE!

I'm glad the hurricane didn't interfere!

Thanks for the show!

In stitches,
Teresa :o)

Bonnie's was the first blog I ever read. Before that I didn't even know such a thing existed as quilting blogs! She's terribly generous with her amazing brain. How fun to see her and all the quilts. Glad you had an enjoyable time. Was lunch good?

And for me, Bonnie's was the Only blog I read till sometime last year. She never ceases to amaze me with her creativity and her generous spirit. How cool that she could catch up with your guild. I'm sure she enjoyed it as much as you did.

That spread looks wonderful.

What great pictures. I'd love to attend one of Bonnie's trunk shows or workshops and have been hoping she'll come to New England someday. Her website was the first one that I found too and has been a source of inspiration to me to organize my scraps and use them.

It looks like a great deal of fun was had by all. It also likes you put out a grand spread for lunch for the quilters. Our guild here no longer does that- the guild is too large- it has around 375 members-
It would be fun to see Bonnie's trunkshow- she does such great things with scraps.
Have a terrific week.
Warmest regards,
Anna

Thanks for sharing about your recent guild adventure.

I have a question -- do you have a full shot of the pink "odd block" quilt that's in the background of many of your shots? It looks like it says "food-chain"? It intriques me ...and gives me some ideas for my 'not perfect' blocks. ;)

What a great quilt show. Bonnie came to our guild, but I wasn't able to go that night. I'm sure her lecture was great.

My favorite is the second one from the bottom. Love the checkered squares, nice twist on a Baltimore Quilt!

You always have so much fun!
