A start and a finish!

Macbeth has a new kitten...meet Dobbie! In less than 24 hours this kitten has turned out house upside down. He has stolen Brownie's food, taken a bath in Mac's waterbowl, and made a mess out of my DH's favorite blanket (what was he thinking holding a kitten that long after it ate?!)
Mac isn't getting much sleep. He follows Dobbie all through the house. The cats aren't too sure they like him yet so Dobbie still spends lots of time in his "own" room...good thing kittens need lots of sleep. BTW, he was named Dobbie because I put some old clothes from the "rag" bin into a basket for him to sleep on. When we came back he had crawled into an old white sock and just his head poked out. And a finish...finally got the binding done on this quilt. Just in time too! It is a pattern/technique from Bonnie Hunter's website. A great way to use up scrappy strips. Now only 4 more quilts to bind! Zikes.....

Oh1 Lucky you! A new kitten. It is amazing that they may be small but they take over the whole house. I love the picture of Dooby in the waterbowl! A hoot!

Dobbie sure is a cutie! I hope that the other pets accept him soon. I like the finished quilt, and also love using up scraps. Happy quilting!

Both Dobbie and the quilt are just wonderful! So happy for the binding finish for you, and a warm "welcome" for the new fur baby. Gotta love those gray tabby cats! Hope the bumps in the road smooth out for everyone and no more baths in the waterdish. Hugs, Finn

I LOVE Dobbie (and his name - my HP-crazed daughter approves!). That picture of him in the water dish is too cute! My cat HATES water, although he is fascinated with it.

Love your scrappy quilt...are you doing her latest mystery?? I wasn't going to until I had finished some things, but then today I printed out the first 3 parts. Hmmm...no will power.

In stitches,
Teresa :o)

Dobby is the purrfect name for your little kittie/elf-in-a-sock!!!

"Dobby has got a sock," said Dobby in disbelief. "Master threw it, and Dobby caught it, and Dobby -- Dobby is free."

He is so sweet, but boy kittens are so wicked. Hope Mac gets some shut eye soon and the other cats learn to accept him.

Keep going - you're nearly there.

Oh your new kitten is too cute! And I love your string quilt. A friend and I worked on string blocks today also. Dang - I was going to try a different layout, but now I"m thinking maybe I need to do this one! I love it!

Cute kitten! Of course the cuteness only partially makes up for the mess-making abilities of small animals...

Great quilt--I have that one on my list too.

I know Mac is especially glad to have his very own kitten :-). If that kitten crawled into a SOCK you will love him forever that is just too cute.

OHHHH I love Dobbie! Nothing like a kitten to shake up a house. We do Christmas by theme each year. This year it is snowmen and a Santa tree. It usually takes weeks but this year we scaled back and it only took a weekend and a couple of days. All thats left is to decorate the tree!

My heart is melting. He looks so much like my "Spock" who was named b/c his ears were as big as he was. He was the most loving cat and died 2 years ago at almost 16. I still miss him :(.

Love the quilt. It has such a great "optical illusion" element. :-)
