Daylilly, a finish and a find!

The heat has me and my MS hiding indoors this weekend...just hope it isn't for the rest of the summer.

My eyes are a bit wonky (went to an outdoor auction last week and got way overheated) so today I spent time sorting fabric in my sewing room...can't believe I unearthed another box from our last move! Bit of a mystery here...what was I planning on doing with over 150 3-inch four-patches? I have no memory of sewing these but they are made up of my regular fabrics so I guess I must have...but why?! humm....

I also found this table runner top...this I remember! I found a back for it and may quilt it up tomorrow. It will be nice for the summer...
I do have a finish! I made this little quilt for my sister to take to a conference this summer. They collect blankets at "crafter's court" and donate them to a local hospital...this will be her donation! My daylillies are putting on quiet a show...there are at least a dozen different colors in bloom right now. The blooms below are about 6 inches across each so lots of color!
I want to use a couple of the daylilly photos to make an "art" quilt...stay tuned for my latest project!

I really like those four patches. I even own some of those same fabrics! :)

That 4-patch find is a treasure trove! So many possibilities! The table runner is timely in its red, white and blue. Gorgeous daylilies!
Congrats on your finish! Cute quilt.

The heat has really had my hubby sticking around inside too due to his MS also. Hopefully the cold front the weatherman keeps talking about will show.

I love the table runner!

Stay cool,
*hugs*

I've been staying inside in the a/c as much as I can... good excuse to sew! Supposed to be cooler (mid-80s) this coming week... take care!

Isn't it lovely to find something you started ages ago, even if you can't remember the original plan!! Gorgeous lilies and great finish. xo

Oh, good. I'm glad I'm not the only one that finds mystery blocks or mystery quilt tops that I have no memory of making. Granted, the fabric in some of them looks like it's from the '80s, but really! Oh well, at least I remember where I live.

Fun find! That's a lot of blocks to play with. I'm sure you will come up with something terrific for them. The table runner is really pretty.

My daylilies are going gangbusters too. We are the only part of the nation having reasonable temperatures, it seems. Rather cool for us in SoCAlif.

Heat is horrendous; do we ever need rain. Weren't you nice to make a donation quilt for your sister to give! I've been thinking about getting a few more colors in daylilies; have the railroad lily type only in the yard although I absolutely adore those.

art quilt??? have fun with the 4-Patches. boo to overdoing it with the heat; I take it you didn't find anything cool at the auction.

Great 4 patch find and well done on a finish and the table runner find. Hope you don't have too much heat trouble - send it here and I'll swap it for our rain!
Love your Lilies.

Hey, now you a big batch of fun blocks with which to play! If you ever run across that novelty cat print and have some to spare... let me know, I'd trade with you.
Hope you feel better.
