This and that...

Summer seems to be a slow time for bloggers...certainly has been for me!
I do have an excuse this time - a car accident. My Dh was driving my car which we park on the sloped driveway. He rarely drives my car and forgot to put on the parking break so as I was getting out the car lurched forward sending me flying onto the lawn (graceful I'm not!) Anyway, nothing broken but my right shoulder/back is really painful making typing or sewing or just about anything a bit of pain (except maybe a "Murder She Wrote" marathon...can't believe I had never seen the first episode!)

So not much happening here so I went through the last months photo files and found several things I had planned to post but never got around to it...at the top of this post is a small doll quilt randomly pieced that I am going to had quilt this summer. I have a huge bag of randomly pieced blocks that I hope to put together but this piece wants to be on its own...
Isn't this quilt blocks sketch book fun! My friend Paula gave it to me for my birthday. So far it has sat on my living-room shelf - too pretty to write in!

This is a card made for me by my friend Maggie. It has all the quilters who stay in the cabin together at Hickory Knob each year...I am the second from the left. Isn't is nice how young she made us all look!

So sorry to hear about your spill... do hope you're better soon! In the meanwhile, stay cool, pet fabrics, and look at quilt magazines and books!

Hope you recover quickly. Those kinds of jolts send shock waves through the whole body.
Very thoughtful gifts from friends!

Awfully glad you landed on the lawn Sio, that could have been one terrible accident! Sorry about the aches, know them well, give yourself plenty of time to unbruise. I love Murder She wrote, she's one of my favorite actresses. Gotta love those older ladies, no one compares to Jessica Tandy for me!
Love the single block doll quilt. So quite primative, reminds me of my MAM blocks but a bit less coo-coo.
Enjoy your down time. Hugs, Finn

No broken bones....thank goodness....could have been much worse! Glad you have Jessica Fletcher to help you through the pain! We never call it Murder She Wrote anymore....it's just, "Let's watch some Jessica!".....lol

I have been missing from blog land for awhile myself but I am using blogs as a reward today for just hanging in at work. I squeeze a blog in between a few emails. So sorry about the accident and I hope the pain goes away soon.

How frightening to be unceremoniously ejected from the car! at least you sort of had a soft landing, I hope your aches and pains ease quickly! I love your random scrappy block! and I think you friend did a great job on the project with all the quilters sitting along side each other, very sweet indeed!!!

What a super cool block quilt. Love it. Looks like it was fun to make and hey ---- that car accident story definitely is a unique to Scraps & Threadtales type story. Not that it's funny but… well you know what I mean. *wink* Hope your body is feeling NOT so sore today friend. That's the bummer thing about those situations. Ugh.

Sorry to hear about your spill Sio- I hope that you are beginning to recover without any lasting effects.
Blogging is a bit slow these days but I have been reading and getting another quilt started. I should be using this time wisely but sometimes it takes me awhile to get going after the busy school year.
Happy quilting.
Regards,
Anna

Take it easy and don't over do! You have some beautiful projects once you're feeling up to sewing.

Ouch! DH's can't be trusted with anything. Moral of the story - don't let him drive your car!

Hope you're feeling a bit better. Sometimes a long soak in the tub helps, especially it you've got some really expensive bath gel. Send DH out to get some!
