Rest-up for the holidays

Today was break-day before the final Christmas festivities begin. Early my DH and I cleaned the carpet and did the floors then we headed out to an early movie (Sherlock Holmes...very fun) and then dinner. Tonight I rest to get ready for the holiday.

I did stop at the LQS for some thread and to wish them a Merry Christmas. Remember how I was worried about not having enough variety in my black fabrics for my Orca Mystery Quilt...well this yard of fabric should help! (no it is not a black and white photo...each stripe is about 2-1/2 inches wide. Very useful!)

Two of my Christmas Cactus came into bloom this week. How did I do it...by doing nothing. Some years I've worked really hard at it (no water and weeks with the plants in a closet...) but I didn't get it together this year and what happens. Blooms....go figure!

We had our Christmas celebration today because of our daughter's work schedule. So I am free to sew all weekend. Have a wonderful holiday weekend.

What a perfect find in that black striped fabric.
I have been told that the natural shortening of the days will put the cactus into bloom for Christmas, but I always had bright lights on by mine late into the night so it never knew the days had become shorter. : )

Merry Christmas to you and your family...
Christmas Cactus looks good! I have friends that work so hard on making sure they bloom, thats so funny guess they do what they want when they want!
B and W's look great, glad you have enough variety now

hmm, so are you using that b&w fabric as is, cutting along the "lines" between the "fabrics" or just cutting wildly??? will be interesting to see. merry christmas!!!
