Log cabin and flu...

Combining flu and MS is not a good thing...have gotten little done the past week.  Every-time I think I am better and venture out - whamm.
MacBeth sleeping on a project that has been on the floor too long!
Today is a whamm day...this morning couldn't use the left leg at all.  I get up for 20 minutes then have to nap for 30...urghhhhh.  About the only "quilt-y" thing I've done is sort scraps for the challenge over at Victoria's blog 15 Minutes of Play.  At this moment I 'd give anything to stay alert for 15 minutes!

Heck I even fell asleep during Downton Abbey!  Maybe if I watch it three times I'll get the whole storyline...

Anyway, before I this all hit I was putting away some of the quilt collection and trying to get more photos so I could do a better job documenting them.  The logcabin quilt above is actually tied not quilted.  The logs are less than an inch wide.  There are some wonderful example of indigo, double pinks and just a touch of cheddar.

I really love this layout.  Quilt is about 65 inches by 65 inches so hangs nicely on a wall.  The quilt was purchased in Pennsylvania.

Here is a photo of the back of this quilt.  Interesting note - when documenting or appraising a quilt it is best to start with the back.  Generally it is the last fabric purchased for a quilt so may give a hint to the age or there may be a label....

I am so sorry that you are going through this flu and your other problem! I have had a bad cold since before Christmas. I start to get better and then the sneezing and coughing/a little sore throat come back! Had a flu shot and it should be good by now. Maybe it is keeping me from getting The Flu. I do hope that you feel 100% better very soon!
Love the quilt there. I look closely at Pennsylvania quilts. I had just started quilting when my grandmother in Warren, PA passed away. My mom and her siblings went to clear the old home. In the attic were lots and lots of quilts. They threw them out the attic window and I don't know exactly whatever happened to them . I know my Great-great grandmothers must have turned in their graves! I wish I had known about the quilts then!
Anyhow, love seeing them. I will be hoping you get well!

That must be maddening to be so incapacitated when there is so much you would like to do.
Love that log cabin quilt. It seems that these days we don't make them with such skinny strings, unless we are making a mini.

Sorry to hear that the nasty flu bug is still hanging around. Such beautiful log cabin with the surprise of cheddar. Years ago I heard a speaker talk about adding a little bit of cheddar in every quilt, I thought she must be crazy. Little did I realize how it can make a quilt sparkle . Don't feel bad I always have to watch Downton Abbey several times to get all the dialogue. Hope you feel better soon.

cute quilt - love the cheddar bits. ugh, feel better! it's bad enough that you get knocked out by the MS in the summer - it's not allowed to get you in the winter too.

Hope you are soon feeling a whole lot better. I always tape Downton Abbey so I can rewind to get all the dialogue. Especially when Daisy starts talking the rewind button gets quite a workout!

Aww, hate that the flu bug hit so hard. Lots of rest is the only solution, I think. Take good care of yourself. Love that log cabin!

I've heard so many people getting the flu lately....I'm so sorry it's knocked you out. Hopefully it will pass soon. The quilt is fabulous! And I love that there are so many thrifty-pieced logs in it! Fun!

You must be feeling bad if you can't stay awake during Downton Abby - that always keeps me awake. Hope you get to feeling better soon!!

Hope you are feeling better soon. I did the "cold" thing right after the new year...the flu would have been worse but I still whined a lot :-/ Hang in there. Keep the chicken soup and fluids going.

Hope you are feeling better soon. Flu is bad enough on its own...I can't image how uncomfortable it is when coupled with MS. ((hugs))

Sorry to hear you have been feeling so poorly and unable to do the things you want, hope you have better days ahead. I'm dreading our winter because we have been warned we will be getting the same nasty flu you guys are currently experiencing, and flu shots are being strongly advised.
Love that log-cabin, especially as the blocks are on-point, and I agree I love the small additions of cheddar, creates a lot of visual interest!! Take care!!

So sorry to hear the flu is kicking you. We had it here and I've been icky for most of a month. I'm tired of it...it can stop NOW. Get lots of rest, that seems to be the only thing that really helps.

Love that log cabin! I love the stripes and plaids, and love that cheddar. What time period would you say it was from?

So sorry to read that you have been sick. I think everyone I know has had some sort of awful bug this year. Love the photo of MacBeth. That's really a great log cabin quilt--the colors are wonderful.
