Monday quilting update...

I cannot believe how many quilters have finished (quilting, binding and everything) the Easy Street Mystery designed and hosted by Bonnie Hunter.  Needless to say I am not among the over-achievers!

My top is plugging along nicely, thank-you-very-much.  I have the four corners and most of the setting triangle pieced along with two of each type of 15 in center block.  Not breaking any speed records but steady as I go....

I basted one of my small quilts - rows of crayons.  I am going to quilt this one on my domestic machine.  I find thread basting easier on my hands these days.  To baste this 36 by 45 quilt took me most of the Redskins Games yesterday.

Started packing for my guild's annual retreat.  Every year I pack way too much.  This year I'm promising myself only a few projects...perhaps one for my machine and another hand-quilting for the cabin....

*LOL* If you want to associate with an underachiever I'll send you a photo of my cutting table, where I am still working on step #1 of Easy Street. I started over the weekend.
Yours looks great from here!! : )

Yours looks fabulous! I have blocks semi assembled. Some need rows sewn some need corrections. I would have more done but "work" is getting in the way.

Your Easy Street blocks look awesome! Kudos to Bonnie Hunter again for keeping me in suspense up until the last clue. I only have a few more blocks done than you. I too am slowly but surely plugging away at it. I can't believe all of the people that have their quilt tops done already. Oh well... It sure is fun -- and beautiful.

Thanks for keeping a reasonable pace on Easy Street! I began to feel like a loser because I'm not even done with the "A" blocks yet. It's not a race! Yours is really pretty!

I really like your Easy Street, with those darker greens mixed in there! Awesome!

Your blocks are looking wonderful. From one underachiever to another I only started putting my blocks together last night and have 1 block each done the 4 corners and 2 triangles. Do you think those that have finished ever sleep? ;)

I've not seen any completed Easy Street quilts (except for Bonnie's, of course)...but then, I'm not out searching for them either. The ones I've run across are tops at best...most are almost tops. Just keep in mind that it's about the journey, not the destination...

I think you have a lot finished with such a complicated block. Slow ad steady wins the race. Thread basting is a pain to do but it is the best.

Your Easy Street is looking great! I also am thinking what to take for the retreat and Easy Street is definitely going with me to get my blocks together. See you soon!

Your progress on Easy Street is to be admired!! I did not even start! Have you tried pin basting your quilt with straight pins and then putting "stoppers" on each pin so you don't bleed to death? They are called Pinmores and look like miniature swim noodles. They work really well and are easy on the fingers. Enjoy the retreat!

Have a wonderful time at your retreat. It is good to know I am not the only one who usually packs too much. The problem is that when you get there you might want to work on something you didn't take and then you kick yourself for not packing more. Have fun.
