Back to stitching

Finally, all is quiet on the pet front.  I can get back to stitching.

I saw this quilt over at a friends.  There is a long story behind it but suffice to say her Mom was hoping to be able to repair if for a family friends.  This would be a huge project and potentially could do more harm than good.  It is an interesting quilts. though.

Nice sashing/pieced cornerstones and interesting quilting.

I'm working on a large applique piece...nothing really to show and it is slow going so I allowed myself a few minutes of "play" to try piecing a new block.  I really like it!  Pulled more fabrics to make a couple more...

I also got the post-office and mailed off a bunch of boxes and some appraisals.  phew...nice to get a big check mark on the to-do list!  To celebrate I made two loaves of banana bread...

Life is getting back to normal...still miss Mac though...checked out the Scotty dog rescue sites...still a bit too soon.

I'm glad things are settling at your house.
I like the new block you made.
Hmm, now I'm craving banana bread and I don't think there is any in the freezer. : (

Those kitties are looking calmer, still gorgeous. Good idea on the rescue sites. Our rescues have rescued us several times now :-)

Good to hear that things have started to settle down with your feline family! Yes a bit too soon for another little doggy mate, although I can understand why you would be starting to look around for another one. MacBeth has probably got one chosen for you anyway, and will make the decision for you when you decide to open your heart and home to another wonderful little dog who needs to be loved and cared for.....
That old quilt looks wonderful, what a shame it has some raggedy bit, but at least it has been well used...

Was so sad to hear about Macbeth but I'm sure he's already checking out his replacement at the rescue. We had to say good-bye to our 13 year old EBT about 4 wwks ago and I still expect to see her cheeky face even though we have 5 other rescues ( 2 greyhounds ,2 lurchers and another 13 year old EBT)

Dobby still looks like he could be thinking about trouble even if he's not doing it LOL. Love that old quilt, such an inspiring design and your new block looks fun.
Glad you're stitching again!!

I am looking for a good banana bread recipe. I tried a new one last week. It tasted okay, but it was more like a banana cake that a banana bread loaf. It made two loaves also, and lots of bananas. Glad the pet front has calmed.
