Happy Mother's Day...

My Mom 2005 in New Hampshire

Going to spend the day working in the quilting room and maybe planting a few more tomato plants (replacing some eaten by some small animal last week...think I need taller planters!)

I've been trying to work on this quilt for my husband...yes that is golfing toile!  I'm trying to use fabrics with colors that show up around the courses here in April...yes, the Masters.  So there is lots of pink, yellows, green, browns, and a bit or gold/yellow.  I really like the blocks...hate the golf fabric!  This will be a small quilt!
I picked up this crocheted basket doily the other day at the antique mall...really like it but am at odds what to do with it!  Pillow?  Wall hanging?  Gift it and make it someone else's project?  hummm
In need of borders...
My guild has a UFO finish game going on where you are supposed to finish a quilt (or at least move it along the process) each month.  Yikes.  I did find a couple of projects that only need a border or just need binding.  I think I'm going to kit them up today so I can move on them quickly when the spirit moves me!

Looks like your helper loves blocks!! Must have worn himself out. I love the blocks that go with the golf fabric. The crochet basket could be the center of a medallion type quilt. It would look great with the right background fabric. Maybe you could start at the center & send it to another quilter for a round robin quilt!!! Just thinking out loud.....

That golf fabric is a hoot! You are surrounding it with beautiful blocks! : )
I like the doily, but I don't know what I'd do with it. DD#1 took a doily my grandmother had made and starched it and mounted it onto a vintage fabric background, then had it framed in a period-looking frame. I really like it.

Love the golf fabric. I am also trying to get some UFO's finished. I was changing the wall quilts yesterday and found a nice springy top with the borders pinned on. They are sewn on now. Can't imagine why I didn't do it at the time.

I actually thought, "Wow, what a neat toile!" when I saw your new project. Of course, I love toile, period. I do think it will be a wonderful quilt for your hubby. The first blocks are yummidy!

We were in Florida this spring and thought of you while driving home - through Atlanta - the cutoff to Augusta. Maybe one day we'll take that road. Love your kitties and the golf quilt.
