Merry Christmas All!

I'm back...computer issues, and holidays had me tangled up the past couple of months.  Today I'm starting my New Year's resolution to get back to posting at least two times a week.

Since my last post I finished my spider web top.  This was inspired by a vintage quilt in my collection (the black and gray edging), a quilt if Rod K.'s collection (using a different fabric in each "star") and borders on several quilts on the Antique and Vintage facebook site.

Originally I thought I make a random pieced border...then I thought a piano key border...after seeing the A&V quilts I went for this slated strips.  (Which also took several tries...all pink? all random fabrics? then pink with just a bit of yellow and gray...)

What was I thinking?  Took ten times as long as my original idea!

So here it is...actually started and finished in the same calendar year!

Very pretty! I like the different star centers, and I love the border! May have been more work but it looks great.

Looks great! I finished a Spiderweb quilt this year, too, but I don't remember when I started it. (No label on the quilt - yet - need to read through my journal to find when I started it.)

Ooo, that's so pretty--methinks it was worth the extra effort, no? Glad to see you back!!

what a unique border, love it. Hmm start and finish in the same year, a novel concept lol. I guess I better speed up some of these projects, only a few days left in this year.

Glad to see you back. I was worried you might be having health issues. Love the quilt, especially that slanted border!

Love the quilt and glad you are back. I was a little concerned when my "friend" was gone for so long.

I had just been wondering a day or two ago if you were okay. Glad to see you back!
That quilt turned out very pretty. Your border is a great finish, but it does look like lots of work. By the time I get to the border I am often finished with piecing. : )

Sio, after I left the above comment I joined DH to watch an episode of antiques roadshow. It was one of the episodes where they show an appraisal from the past and then give an update on the value. Suddenly I sat up and shouted, "That looks like Sio!" DH had no clue what I was talking about. I knew you had been on the show, but I had never caught that episode. I watched the segment with interest and then went to the computer, looked up your blog and did a search for "Antiques Roadshow." It was you! So fun to watch you. : )

Very pretty--and I don't even like pink! :)

Two posts a week is a good goal. My posting has been erratic at best this year. That's what happens when you have an old slow computer and not much sewing going on to post about! Happy New Year!

Lots of pinks in your quilt. Something you don't find a lot of in my stash though I am trying to correct that.
