Baby it's cold outside!

I think my blood has gotten thin living down here in Georgia.  I don't handle the cold very well anymore!  This morning it was so cold Watson didn't even complain when I put his jacket on before our walk!

So I am spending a lot of time sewing and sorting "stuff."  These random blocks have made it back onto the design wall...they are 9 inches by 17 inches...

I've passed the halfway point on the Ocean Waves quilt.  Much to my surprise when I was sorting in the sewing room I found a small bag filled with half square triangles that I had made years ago for this quilt!  Good timing on that find...it is enough for at least 6 blocks!

Part of the sorting is due to our house hunting...which has not gone well.  Either we like the house or the location.  So far never both!  On the up side it is making us appreciate our house more.  So the newest plan is to get an estimate on a small addition to my sewing room...we just need about 10 more feet out (the room is 16 feet wide.)  I feel as if I'm living in an episode of "Love it or List it."  Only we don't have the really cool designer to help!

On a serious note...my heart goes out to the French people.  I've had the news on non-stop today.

We once had the same problem on househunting as you. Here's a tip on the addition. I was told at the time by our contractor that when adding on, build in increments of 4 feet, because lumber is sold that way, especially plywood and drywall which is necessary for any build. We wanted to build an addition of 14' x 24' and he said it would waste 2 feet of all materials so we might as well go up to 16' x 24'! I sure didn't want to go down to 12' width.

The Ocean Waves blocks are something that will make a very good quilt. I started one years and years ago but gave it away part way through. I can't remember what went astray with it. But I have regretted not sticking with it.

Your box of unearthed HST's are so pretty, just waiting to go become a quilt! Good for you for choosing Ocean Waves, it will be spectacular!

Love ocean waves--your colors are so pretty. Congrats on finding more parts. Why are you considering moving? (Nosy)
Cold weather seems to be the theme today on all blogs :)

We have downsized for location.... a case of convenience over comfort, but I am sewing through the chaos so I guess we quilters are made of stern stuff. Love the Ocean waves!

WooHoo! Great find on the Ocean Waves. Those take LOTS of HSTs. : )
Are you looking for a new house for more reasons than an expanded sewing room? Just wondered if that addition would resolve the need to move or just delay it a bit.
