Quilt Show!

Tonya and I made it to the Malverns Quilt Show and back to Teddington in one piece. Our plans to not buy any fabric were busted 10 steps in the door! The second stall was manned by Kim Porter of Worn and washed reclaimed fabrics. The photo below is of her stall. It so made us think of Bonnie and her new book. Kim has a great sense of color. The rolls were hard to resist...so we didn't. Two of our rolls are in the first photo. We also got some packages of fat quarters in bright plaids, some indigo fat-quarters and some very fun Indian stamps. Not as much damage as I've done at some shows and more than others!

Now we are going upstairs to my quilt room so Tonya can "shop my stash" and find some bits to go with her new fabrics and maybe drink our 100th cuppa tea!
We also have to chase Goldie out of the guest room again...she isn't sure why T has taken over "her" bed!

Sounds like a wonderful day! So sorry I'm missing Malvern this year...but I just have to stay on this fabric diet for just a bit longer...

Wow! It looks like you (and Goldie) already are well-acquainted with plaids! What a great stall, and wonderful plaid quilts she had. They're giving me some good ideas. Glad to hear that you and Tonya are having so much fun - I hope you're still having sunshine too!

I envy you both, being able to attend a great quilt experience, and what wonderful shopping stalls. Are you doing any sewing? What plans do you have for your bundles? Happy Sunshine to you.

Did you find RagBags as well they do similar things with recycled fabrics - sounds like you had a terrific time

Oooh...can you please tell me how those little delectable rolls are packaged? Size...how many? I've been tossing the idea around about packaging up "collections" of my hand dyeds.

Goldie does look a little ticked. Funny kitty!

Hi Siobhan,
What a fun way to spend a day- there is nothing nicer than spending time with a fellow quilter. I am sure that you and Tonya will come up with some great ways to use the fabric. It is wonderful idea to sell reclaimed fabrics and have people use them to make quilts. I have never seen fabric sold that way here in Canada.
I enjoyed reading both the Kite Runner and a Thousand Suns. It is always fun to see what others are reading.
Hope that you have had a great weekend.
Regards,
Anna
