I am so tired these days I am having problems doing anything with my quilting projects. Yesterday at the stitching meeting I worked on one of my little projects...how can a 15x15 inch quilt can take 5 years. How many months per square inch would that be? Too many...
The quilt at the top is an antique maverick. It is so ugly it is beautiful. I think I may have posted it when I first started blogging. It is still one of my favorite quilts!

Thanks for all the ideas on what to do this bank holiday weekend. I think we will make it up to Shrewsbury and take a few trips across the Welsh border. (I'm going to try and get him to Strokesay but he isn't a castle type of guy!) Another american loaned us a book called Cadfael Country which we will use as a bit of a guide. I'm just happy we don't have to deal with an airport this weekend!

Be warned UK motorways get chocka at bank holidays - take the scenic route instead if you can. Also the weather is set to turn incredibly cold from Sunday according to the BBC - take some snuggly jumpers with you too - and most of all, have fun!

I LOVE this quilt - don't call it ugly. It's not ugly at all. Great personality is all.
I'm sorry to hear you are so tired, but try giving yourself a break. Stay home, nap a lot with the kitties, and eat at the pub.

I agree - the quilt IS beautiful. But what I really noticed was how well it blends with your 'stuff' to the left in the photo. You have managed to make it all look good together! LOL.

Oh what a marvelous quilt! I don't think it's ugly at all. I'd give my eye teeth to own a quilt like that!

It's a spectacular quilt... not ugly one teeny-tiny bit. I always laugh when I hear poeple say things like: "so ugly it's pretty" or "a face only a mother could love". Yes, beauty IS in the eyes of the beholder... when I behold the photo of this quilt it is truly beautiful. Well done. I hope you're feeling better...

Did you know that you are one of the reason I like old quilts now? I actually bought one at a garage sale for 5 dollars. I'll have to post it sometime. It needs a lot of love and a bit of work. But it's a beautiful quilt with lots of love.

Hugs,
Melinda

I love this quilt what you did here reminds me of strawberries, shortcake and cream...mmmmm just the thought of it. Don't worry about trying to do projects when you are too tired, I know just the feeling... enjoy your little projects what ever they are no matter matter how little time you spend on them even if just half an hour. I get over whelmed with tiredness too, part of my medical condition. Keep stitching along..
Im trying to get my odd gardening jobs done before the weather turns opposite to warm sunshine...eeeek , and then i will do some stitching lol

I hope the book is coming out. I will buy it :-)

I searched for a other post from your antique quilt ( last post) but I can't find it. Tho it was nice to wander through your blog again! I saw many nice quilts. And I need to make the log cabin crib quilt !! It is definitely high on my list. I bought in Paducah a lot of shirtings which is perfect for this quilt :-)

Awesome quilt! It seems really maverick for a vintage, doesn't it? But what do I know. Love the pink and brown and shots of gold. Lucky you!

I'd hate to figure out how much time a really spent making a quilt! Of course some of the ones that have been around just live in the cupboard for years before they get finished. Yours looks like it would really take that much time it is so intricate.

Love that quilt! The colours are great, and I don't think it is ugly at all.

This is the main reason we save all these bits and bobs!! To make a lovely quilt that warms our hearts and beds!

This is the kind of quilt that made me love quilting in the first place--there is so much going on that you don't know where to look first. I think this kind of visual chaos is a fabulous thing.
