Progress...really!

The new studio is so close to being finished...but not yet!

Today they are putting shelves in along this wall...it will take a couple days.  Today measure, cut, install and prime.  Tomorrow paint.

I'm thinking Saturday will be the start of move-in!  This may involve cake...

Anyway, while this is going on I did get two quilts back from the longarmer...

First is this lapsize autumn leaves quilt.  I think the pattern was in McCall's.  It was a few years ago...

I like how it came out.  Judy, who did the quilting, used a pattern called forest floor.

Next is my pink spiderwebs.

Love how it came out.  Need to figure out what color fabric to bind it with!  This has been a challenging quilt for colors...

I used a very challenging but fun back!  Surfin' Kitties!

As I've been consolidating boxes I've found Watson toys everywhere...he likes to hide them under fabric!  He isn't real happy with my putting them all in one basket...

Love the surfing kitties. If I had to pick a binding color I'd try to match the dark pink on the backing. I think it would be a nice frame for the front of the quilt and look good on the back as well.

I think that a pink and white stripe or one of the pink polka dot fabrics would be something to consider. It is a bright and cheerful spiderweb quilt.

The quilts are so pretty! My favorite one is definitely the Forest Floor quilt, nice work! Your new space will be enviable, and it's really coming along now.

Fun! Cake should definitely be included for such a celebration!
Can't wait to see the shelves and you enjoying your space :-)
Both quilts are beautiful. I love the forest floor panto for the first one. The pink spider webs is wonderful. I agree that a thin black binding would be fun. Especially to frame those crazy surfing cats!
Hugs to poor Watson...I do the same thing here with all the dog bones etc. The pups generally have them all pulled out of the box in no time.

I remember an organizing expert once saying, "Diamonds may be a girl's best friend, but give me shelves!"
Nice to get some quilts off the UFO list.
Surfin' kitties--gotta love it! : )
