Bags for teachers

Last night members of my quilt guild helped out a local church group make bags for the elementary school teachers and staff. The bags were filled with important stuff like hand sanitizer, facial tissue, pens, markers, paper, and other stuff needed in classrooms. The bags were fairly simple but are sturdy and will carry a lot of books and papers in the future. In all there were about 45 made and filled so a good night's work! The photo shows one of our guild member's wo made the last bag of the night!

I also finished my strawberry block for my At Piece with Time quilt. The applique is pretty straightforward so even with wonky eyes I can handle it!

Brownie is being most difficult right now. My Dh is off on a golf trip so she is "sulking." Last night I was up every couple of hours looking for her. I thought maybe she had gotten out the door while I carried in bags...finally when I went to make coffee at 7 am she comes strolling out from under a pile of fabric on the kitchen table. (Maybe she like my DH doesn't like it when I spread my fabric all over the house...but that is the best part of my Dh's golf trips!) I guess she feels guilty because a few minutes ago she brought me a big green gecko...so sweet.....

Sio,

You make me fall in love with applique here. I can't believe I said that so don't tell anyone. I'm not turning a needle! But you chose the most lovely mix here and I'm happy looking at it.

Bags for teachers - very cool. Also wanted to thank you for the great shot of Brownie. Sorry she's being a bad little girlie. hee!

What lucky teachers to get bags filled with goodies. When I was teaching there was nothing we liked better!

I've had that book for years and every now and then I think that I should go through it and start some blocks. Maybe seeing yours come together with inspire me!

Your Brownie looks very much like my tabby. I enjoy looking at your pictures of antique quilts and blocks in previous posts, and saw at least one that I would love to replicate!
I hope you feel better soon. Louise

What a great group project!

My cat Mini killed two rats for my husband's birthday three weeks ago. They were only a little gnawed on, too! And thankfully, both were outside on the patio. I'm glad she can't get in unless she is LET in, LOL.

Brownie sounds like my husband's cat. I tell him she is the "high maintenance" female in the family. Mine brings all sorts of wildlife in the house and I hate it. Most of the animals and snakes are live when she brings them in the dog door. Can we all say YUK!
