Lesson learned

So next year when they say "get your flu shot" I will absolutely go the next day and get it.  Lesson learned.  I not only had the flu early on this season but was lucky/talented enough to get it again...so that is why I have been off the grid for the past couple of weeks...

But I am back!  I even started stitching again today.  (not too much)  I also have long, long list of things to do...

Like getting photos of this Ohio Rose quilt off to a woman who attended one of my programs and now wants to paint this block on her barn!  This was my Dad's favorite quilt.  It is from the 1930's  and is very soft.  The quilting is exceptional!  The binding is applied with a zigzag machine stitch!  After all that wonderful hand work...maybe the maker disliked putting on binding as much as I do?!

Glad you are back up and going again. We do learn the hard way sometimes, don't we?
That is a gorgeous quilt. Could someone other than the original maker have applied the binding?

YIKES! I got my flu shot in November, but had the "talent" to still get it two weeks ago, so who knows whether it's really worth it or not... Glad you're feeling better!

That is a beautiful quilt!

me, too - what Kasey said, except i got mine in October and was talented enough to get the flu three weeks ago ... but i have not been as sick as Auntia, who has been gifted enough to get the flu, a cold, and the flu again all within the past three months ... all i can say is, if this is a "light" case because of the shot, i wouldn't want the heavy duty flu...

I am so sorry to hear you got The Flu... and am glad you've mended enough to be back to quilty stuff!

If it helps any, I got the flu shot last fall and still got the flu in February... whomever makes the flu vaccine certainly guessed wrong this year!

Bless your heart---- the flu twice in one year. Ohio Rose would be wonderful on a barn, spoken from this Ohio transplant.

Sorry to read the flu hit you not just once, but twice. That happened in our family too. Each of us passed it to someone else and someone else passed it back I guess! I had a sick December and January because of that. Christmas and the New Year was not fun for me this last season. Hopefully this coming Christmas season will be better.

The quilt is gorgeous! Sorry you're talented in the illness department--not fun. I have gotten a flu shot every year for about five years and have not gotten the flu. Now I want to get the shingles vaccine!!
