After two days of rest from the quilt show trip I am "almost" human again. Amazing how a little trip like that can wear you out!
Plus I had lots of new "stuff" to get into the house. I did a lot of damage at this quilt store - The Cherry Pit - in Tennessee. Really a nice shop with fabrics they just don't carry in shops near me. More on those goodies in a future post...
One exciting piece of news - cotton solids are being produced locally again!
I drive by fields of cotton and shut down mills on a regular basis and am always saddened that we are forced to buy fabric from overseas when the raw materials are so close. Well we now can buy cotton grown in the south then processed, woven and dyed in South Carolina! I just ordered a few yards to check them out...have my fingers crossed that I will love them! Now if I can just convince a local quilt shop to carry them...

Can't wait to read your review of the American made fabrics. I, too, am hoping to see then in LQS's soon.
Glad to hear you're recovering from your quilt show road trip!
I saw an announcement somewhere about the new line of American made fabrics... so exciting. Looking forward to your review.... and hoping the LQS will carry them!
YEAH!!! Ohh this is so exciting. MADE AND GROWN IN AMERICA. Oh happy day. Where can I order some? Where can every patriotic American quilter order some? I can't wait to see it. Thanks so much for sharing this info.
I will be very interested to see what you think of the fabrics.
And I look forward to seeing the "damage" you did. : )
so glad you had a good time x yes it is exhausting .. although non-sewers think we are mad for saying so xx
fabric is dangerous - it always jumps in my arms and wants to go home with me... didn't realize you had a local quilting shop ;-)
These fabrics sound fantastic! I just googled it and Hancock's of Paducah seems to have the whole line of 47 different colors! Woot! Can't wait for your review of them (since no one has done that on that site yet!)
It is good to read American cotton is coming back to quilting. Yay!
That is a cool quilt shop to visit - been there a few times myself! That is interesting about the American made cotton solids. Will be on the lookout for them!
Isn't The Cherry Pit wonderful? I've done some major damage there when I've been in Tennessee. I bought my first Civil War repros there. Fabulous news about the cotton fabrics being made here in the USA! Love that.
