Indigo was a major cash crop in South Carolina in the early days of American's history. South Carolina grew lots of rice, cotton and indigo. I live on the Savannah river which separates South Carolina from Georgia. There were several indigo plantations around here back in the late 1700's.
So with all that local history I justified getting another top for my collection. Other than some age spots this is in very good condition. I have several quilts from the mid 1800's that have indigo fabrics in them and the dye holds up amazingly well.
Dobby of course came out for the photo shoot....

Pretty! I do like two color quilts and love that this one is scrappy. Have you seen the new Minnick & Simpson indigos? They are yummy.

I think blue and white is my favorite two color combination. And in a 9-patch--love it!

I am in a 2 color phase and have moved over to the I love blues now I may just need to make a blue and white nine patch (my favorite block!) someday.

hello, Dobby. that quilt looks great in close-up and love the history. oh, zero is lonely, cutie pie. how do the cats react to him?
Those indigo blue prints are wonderful and still very vibrant, would you consider getting this one long-arm quilted?, it would be lovely to be able to have it on a bed!! Poor little Zero, what a precious little face he has!!!!
