Blue messiness

Well our extended heat wave ended with multiple lightning storms which again played havoc with our internet, TV, phone and other electrical "stuff."  I hope that we finally have it settled but if you don't see me post for a few days you can assume we didn't.

With the internet hiatus I did get a lot of sewing done!  I am putting the final boarders on Corn and Beans...the photo is sort of close...just flip the gray and the orange.

I started another setting for the half log cabin...this is all in blues!  Much lighter and clearer blues than I usually use...liking it!

This of course set of another setting for the same block...this time it will use up one of the older fabrics in my stash....

Today I have to put aside the sewing for a bit and clean house...sigh.  We are having folks over on Friday and if I start now the dining room (which has again become my sewing room annex) will be presentable.  It is killing me because I was on such a roll!

Yes, indeedy... the internet is quite a distractor from so many things/projects!

Love those blue blocks... don't think I've seen that pattern before... which isn't surprising!

:)

I have company coming this week as well and have spent the day straightening up... and pitching and tossing and packing up and putting away...

Sewing something outside your comfort zone can be an exciting new adventure. Your blue quilt is beautiful.

Yep....I only clean up when I know someone's coming over! And it kills me sometimes to think to stop my fun project to have to pick up! Dang! lol

I put my sewing away Saturday night before the grandkids come over on Sunday. This week we took dinner to their house (my oldest grandson just had surgery), so the sewing stayed put.
The border on the corn and beans is a great continuation of the colorful, scrappy pattern.
I don't even know if I have any blues of the shades in your half-log cabin. Fun to stretch into new territory now and then.

Sometimes it's a blessing when the internet is down. We lose that distraction and focus on our quilting more. Good things can come of it like your two beautiful projects. I love the way the border is looking on your Corn and Beans!

I hate when housework gets in the way of quilting! Alas, i will be doing the same tomorrow on my day off. too much cat hair to ignore at this point.
